This Privacy Policy explains how SugarMind ("SugarMind," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the SugarMind mobile application, keyboard extension, share extension, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
Depending on the features you use, we may collect or process:
- Account information: an internal user identifier and, if you provide them, a name, email address, profile image, sign-in provider information, gender, or birthday.
- Profile and relationship information: partner profiles, relationship stage, preferences, communication styles, notes, and other details you choose to provide.
- Chat and AI content: text, chat exports, sender names, message timestamps, prompts, generated replies, analysis results, and other content you submit to an AI or analysis feature.
- Keyboard and clipboard content: text you choose to paste, copy, select, rewrite, or use to request a response through the SugarMind keyboard. Full Access may be required by iOS for online keyboard features.
- Purchase information: product identifiers, subscription status, transaction identifiers, receipt information, currency, and purchase dates. Apple processes your payment credentials; we do not receive your full payment card details.
- Device and technical information: app version, device model, operating system version, language, region, IP address, network responses, and diagnostic or crash information.
- Attribution information: Apple-provided advertising attribution data used to understand whether an installation or purchase resulted from an advertising campaign.
2. How We Collect Information
We collect information directly from you when you create or update a profile, import a conversation, use an AI feature, contact us, or make a purchase. Some technical information is collected automatically by the app, our servers, Apple services, and service providers used to operate the Service.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide AI-assisted writing, conversation tools, scripts, relationship analysis, and personalized insights.
- Import, organize, and display chat history and partner information.
- Operate the keyboard and share extensions you enable.
- Authenticate users, maintain accounts, sync content, and preserve preferences.
- Process purchases, verify entitlements, restore purchases, and provide Premium features.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and improve reliability.
- Measure campaign performance and understand aggregate use of the Service.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
4. Keyboard and Clipboard Privacy
The SugarMind keyboard can only access information permitted by iOS and the permissions you grant. When you invoke an online reply, rewriting, or similar feature, the text needed to perform that request may be sent to our servers and service providers. Clipboard text is accessed when you use clipboard-related features or when iOS otherwise permits that access. You can disable the keyboard, Full Access, or paste permission at any time in iOS Settings.
5. Chat Imports and AI Processing
If you import a chat file, SugarMind may extract and process messages, participant names, dates, media references, and related metadata. This information may be uploaded to our servers to create reports and insights. AI-generated content may be inaccurate and should not be treated as professional advice.
6. How We Share Information
We may share information only as needed with:
- Infrastructure and AI service providers that host, secure, process, or generate features for the Service.
- Apple for App Store distribution, in-app purchases, subscription management, and attribution.
- Google Firebase for remote configuration and operational or diagnostic services.
- Professional advisers and authorities when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, or respond to lawful requests.
- A successor organization in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
Service providers may process information only to perform services for us and are expected to protect it appropriately. We do not sell your chat content or personal information.
7. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, maintain your account, complete transactions, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and satisfy legal obligations. Imported files and cached content stored locally may remain until removed by the app, deleted by you, or cleared when you uninstall the app. Retention periods may vary by data type and legal requirement.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You can edit certain information in the app, remove partner or saved content, disable permissions in iOS Settings, or stop using the Service. You may request access to or deletion of your account and associated personal information by emailing walleyangyang@gmail.com. We may need to verify your request. Some information may be retained where required by law or for legitimate security, fraud-prevention, transaction, or recordkeeping purposes.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International Processing
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers. By using the Service, you understand that privacy laws may differ across jurisdictions.
11. Children's Privacy
SugarMind is intended only for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
12. Third-Party Services
The Service may link to or interact with third-party apps and services such as messaging platforms. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and SugarMind is not responsible for those practices.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Service after an update means the revised policy applies to your future use.
